There are a number of points worth noting when using this site.

Accessibility
There is a text-only version of the site that allows you, the user, to define your background, text and links colours as well as the size of text that you see on the page. The text-only version additionally benefits from stripping out all images and formatting pages so that they are extremely text-reader friendly. We have used a system called BETSIE that has been developed over a number of years by the BBC and much appreciation is due to their sterling efforts.

The text only version of this website is available at www.careinternational.org.uk/textonly or click on the Text only icon on each page on this site, on the right-hand side, just beneath the Search buttons:

This icon looks like this:Text Only Icon

This website offers the option for it to be viewed in one of three different text sizes. Three icons allow you to select the different size text and are on each page on the right-hand side:

These icons look like this: Text icon 0 Text function size 2

[Please note in Internet Explorer (IE), if you have your browser set to load a new page each and every time, then if you have increased the font-size on one page, and then you go to a new page, the font size will revert to the normal default size. To prevent this you will need to change your IE settings to not load a new page.]

Navigation
The main navigation (at the top of this page) is a dynamic menu system. It is optimized to perform perfectly well on the most common browsers (Netscape version 6+ and Internet Explorer version 4+). On other browsers (earlier Netscape and IE browsers and less common ones such as Konqueror) the site is still accessible and the navigation system usable but there will be some degradation. If, during your visit to our site, you encounter what you consider to be extremely poor site navigation - please let us know using the bug report below.

Each section of the site has main links on the left of each page and subsidiary links on the right. Where the latter exist, they lead to more information relating to the subject selected from the main links in the left hand column.

Search
There is a site-wide free text search (in the brown navigation bar towards the top right of this page).

Structure
The site is, in its simplest form, divided into five main sections, or ZONES. Each represents a different element of CARE. Please use the Bug Report form to report technical problems or errors relating to the design or performance of the site. Other contact details can be found on our Contact page.
