An international relief and development organisation, we employ a workforce of more than 13,000 people, all with one goal: to create lasting change in poor communities around the world. The result of this truly global movement is that every year, across five continents, CARE's work has an impact on more than 45 million people living in poverty.
Local staffCARE is a pioneering organisation and we have constantly improved our work and increased our impact over the last 60 years. With more than 90 per cent of our 13,000 staff employed locally, we have an in-depth knowledge of local issues, cultures and languages.
Changing people’s lives also means changing the world around them, and because of our strong local presence throughout the world, our staff are uniquely placed to do just this. Our vast experience of development issues in poor communities means that we have an in-depth understanding of, and are working at the very heart of, those communities that we support.
While CARE is united as a global agency in the fight against poverty, our voice in the communities we work in across the world is respected by many, and is determined to drive lasting change.
Global partnershipsCARE has a history of working successfully with the private sector, and has a strong reputation for developing partnerships with companies to address the underlying causes of poverty.
As many of the companies CARE works with have far reaching global operations themselves, the partnerships we forge often reflect this complementary footprint. We are able to link up CARE organisations with companies’ key contacts around the world, and build relationships in different countries as a result. We can then work in collaboration with companies to deliver projects on the ground.
